Moisture from the air accumulates on the cold surfaces of the freezer and forms frost. Hoarfrost, possibly ice, is an effective insulator compared to igloos designed to house warm Eskimos during arctic winters. This layer of insulating ice affects the operation of the refrigerator and can be caused by many different factors. These include a faulty car door seal that can cause air to settle on the cold walls of the freezer, and a faulty component that disrupts the built-in automatic defrost cycle. Therefore, when troubleshooting refrigerators with Frost-Free technology, you must ensure that all relevant components are working again.
How do you diagnose freezer problems?
Make sure the freezer is in place.Look for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker.Check output voltage.Make sure the power cord is not damaged.Avoid using an extension cord if one is being used.Check the output voltage.

If the pressure gauge shows zero ohms across the resistor, the thermostat has integrity and is working.
